Bounded Rationality

  • Written by A. G. Harvey

Based on "Theories of Bounded Rationality" by Herbert A. Simon

If I slightly modify the basic idea I come up with the following . . .

Version 1
Reasoning when answering a question is limited by:

  1. cognitive limitations
  2. time available to answer the question
  3. openness to influence from our own existing thoughts and the social norm

Version 2
Reasoning when answering a question is limited by:

  1. cognitive limitations
  2. time available to answer the question
  3. openness to influence from the social norm
  4. availability of accurate information

Version 3
Logical deduction, when answering a question, is limited by:

  1. cognitive limitations
  2. time available to answer the question
  3. openness to influence from the social norm
  4. availability of accurate information

It was suggested motive might play a part in the question answering process. I do appreciate the help of those who have assisted me to form theories and tools that are useful for looking at what I am doing in a philosophical manner.
